Inaccessible touch of Indian women; dipped in immense art; developed in Indian environment and enriched by cultural heritage has ever masmarised the world. Recognition of Indian Texture. weaving skill and printing with earthen colours with an-eye cooling effect has always been and attribute to Indian heritage. Mahashakti Seva Kendra, a voluntary organisation of women from Gas-hit localities of Bhopal has tried to present a calculated-mix of inaccessible touch of Indian women with their weaving and printing, skills in congruance with the nature and has successfully come out with 'Textiles-with-Heritage India.'
Women from the grief-stricken localities of Bhopal, which had witnessed the worlds greatest Industrial disaster a more than a decade ago because of savage use of poisoners chemicals, have tried to give a creative expression to their pain and rejuvenated the old Mughal technique of block printing through natural colours evolved from earthen elements like mud, oil, herbs, metals and salts and also developed it in Indian conditions to give handwoven cloth an additional lustre through traditionally rich designs and stylized motifs on unique patterns. The distinctive styles developed by Maha Shakti Seva Kendra women are ofcourse a new mix of cultural influence, traditional art and prolific creative minds.
Hand block-printing is among important crafts of India but Mahashakti Seva Kendra given it a new dimension by evolving on evanesce technique brought by Mughals hundreds of years back from middle-east to India which was known as Alzerene.
Though the world's leading powers have been showing their anxiety over use of Chemicals, women of Mahashakti Seva Kendra have nursed a sort of/hatred for the use of chemicals. That is why they went on to make an endless effort to develop the old Alzerene technique in Indian conditions with lot of changes. Their effort assumed the shape of Heritage India - a hand block-printing technique with the dyes formed from the five elements hidden in earth.
Indian sages has envisaged the theory of Five elements of Man - Panchtatva: Fire, Ether, Water, Air & Earth. Mahashakti Seva Kendra women/inspired by Indian sages used five earthen elements; oil, mud, metals, herbs and salts to form totally chemical-free natural dyes with an eye-cooling effect and which are also cost-effective providing jobs to Indian women for their magic-touch.
Heritage India Dyes
Heritage India Dyes are totally different from vegetable dyes used by Chheepa community in Bagh in Region in Dhar District of Madhya Pradesh. Besides printing with these dyes is not only cost-effective, but its colour effect also has mystic shades which are not easily faded. Heritage India presents a variety of shades and traditionally unique mofits such as red, maroon, violet, black and indigo.
A Final Word
Mahashakti Seva Kendra intends to bring Heritage India a revolution in hand block-printing and invites the buyers with distinct attitudes and ecological moods.
